​​​Your Learning Journey:

Over 7 hours of bite-sized video lessons (average 10-15 minutes per lesson) covering a large range of topics, organised into 7 structured modules, with "module 5" being dedicated entirely to playing the flute in a Sound Bath. If you are not a Sound Healing Practitioner, that's ok, simply skip this module, the rest of the course is still completely applicable to you! 

 

The lessons are ordered specifically to take you on a structured learning journey, transforming you from complete beginner to playing your flute confidently. Your journey will look like this:

Module 0: Introduction & Flute Familiarisation – You will get familiar with different types, shapes and sizes of flutes and how they sound. Lawrence will take you through some basic concepts and general flute care. This module of the course does not require a flute, so you can start this module instantly on purchase whilst your Gaia Flute is being shipped to you!

Module 1: Playing Your First Notes – You will create your first sounds on your flute, learn some playing fundamentals including how to get comfortable and get a good smooth sound. By the end of this module, you will be playing your first set of smooth musical notes and begin to get comfortable with lifting your fingers up and down. In the videos, Lawrence will also set some structured homework for you to practise to help you progress even faster!

Module 2: Improvisation, Adding Soul & Building Confidence – Lawrence will show you how to improvise, play with a relaxing energy flow and how to add more “Soul” into your flute playing. You will be introduced to the “Music Backing Tracks” which are included with the course and Lawrence will show you how to use them and play over them yourself at home, creating your own “made up” songs! From playing over nature sounds right through to full pieces of music! Lawrence teaches this in a way that allows anyone to do this, regardless of musical background.

Module 3: Flute Tricks Toolbox – By this point you will be playing your flute pretty confidently and making some good music! In this module, you will up level your playing even more by learning new “tricks” to create different sounds. Lawrence calls this module “the tricks toolbox”. Each bite-sized video shows you a new “trick” that you can throw into your playing. You can dive in and out of videos in this module to learn new tricks at any time and do the videos in any order you like depending on which trick you feel like learning on that day!

Module 4: An Introduction to Flute FX – Here, we demystify the world of digital effects (FX), specifically "Reverb" & "Delay", which are the most commonly used FX on these types of flutes. By the end of this module, you will have an idea of what digital FX are, how they change the flute sound & ways to potentially use them yourself with your own flute.

Module 5: Using a Flute to Enhance Your Sound Bath – This is a module made specifically for “Sound Healing Practitioners” which explores creative ways of how to best use the flute in a Sound Bath. If you are not a Sound Healing Practitioner, you can simply skip this module. Lawrence will show you which Crystal Singing Bowls match best with your flute to create soothing harmony. You will then explore how to create Crystal Singing Bowl “chords” and how to blend all of this together with your flute and the music backing tracks provided to create immersive layers of musical sound in your Sound Bath sessions. This module features flutes, Crystal Singing Bowls, music backing tracks, Shruti Box and more, all with examples from Lawrence at every step of the way.

Module 6: Becoming a Better Player & Conclusion – By this point in the course you will have transformed from complete beginner to playing soothing tunes confidently on your flute, and for Sound Healing Practitioners, you will be playing now in your Sound Bath sessions with clients! Your journey doesn’t need to stop here though, so here, Lawrence will share some useful tips on how to keep improving from here, so that you can continue to elevate on your flute journey!

12 Months Access:

​

Joining our online course will give you access to all of the learning content for 12 months from the day of purchase. In our experience this is by far enough time needed to complete it and practise along until you are ready to fly solo and no longer need us! Your access will expire automatically after 12 months and will not "autorenew", so we will not automatically take any payment for renewal. After expiry, you can gain another 12 months access at any point by simply purchasing the course again.
